There are many questions being asked about the 2013 ISPT London poker tournament but few answers thus far. The founders of the ISPT are Bernard Tapie, Laurent Tapie and Prosper Masquelier. Bernard Tapie recently acquired Full Tilt Poker, the beleaguered poker site that owes money to millions of players. The relationship between the ISPT and Full Tilt Poker remains unclear at the moment. Bernard and Laurent are the perfect people to turn Fulltilt Poker around though. It looks like Full Tilt Poker, and the money they owe me and likely most of you, is in good hands at the moment. The Tapies brilliant businessmen and I think they will do very well with both the ISPT and Full Tilt Poker. The Full Tilt Poker connection is certainly interesting but this web site is about the International Stadium Poker Tour so I will try to focus on that. What is the international stadiums poker tour?
The 2013 ISPT London tournament will be held at the Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom (right). This stadium is one of the largest in the world. This tournament event will have a guaranteed prize pool of $30,000,000. Professional players from around the world are already expressing interest in the ISPT. This tournament will be the first of many massive poker tournaments held in stadiums around the world. It will be the first direct challenger to the World Series of Poker in quite some years. It will also be the first major poker event that uses computer terminals (bottom left). Not everyone will be playing at a terminal though. There will be a big playing area on the stadium for the 3,000 players with the most chips after the initial round. The entire ISPT event is scheduled to take 5 days, which will run consecutively. The ISPT is going to use cutting edge technology to reinvent how people play live poker tournaments. The third ISPT founder, Prosper Masquelier, is a celebrity in France and a well known marketing guru. 
The ISPT London event will be broadcast around the world just like the WSOP. I'm sure online poker sites will hold satellites, feeders and freerolls to this prestigious event. If Fulltilt Poker is up and running by then they will definitely be using this unique event to their advantage. The ISPT web site claims that this will be the largest poker tournament ever. The ISPT is estimating 25,000 to 30,000 players so it will be several times larger than the Main Event at the WSOP. Very few details have surfaced yet though. The International Stadiums Poker Tour was virtually unknown throughout the online poker world until the beginning of October, 2013. The ISPT concept certainly has a lot of potential. Sports stadiums from around the world will be waiting in line to host these poker events. The ISPT London event is scheduled to start in the beginning of September, 2012. The Int. Stadium Poker Tour has released a video promoting their upcoming poker tournament. This is one of the few pieces of information available at the ISPT web site at the moment. I image that Bernard and his son Laurent Tapie will be pushing this event very hard and the ISPT will be as well known as the WSOP or WPT within the next year.
